We have a new address

The new library's address is 100 Tinkham Lane, which is just a little farther down Main Street from the old library building in the village of Harrisville.

You won't find Tinkham Lane labeled on the official maps yet. It's a new street, created specially by the Town of Burrillville to honor the contributions of the Tinkham family.

Tinkham Lane is clearly marked, and the new library sign is in place. Please call us at 401-710-7800 if you have any difficulty finding us.

The new library building can be seen opposite the waterfall as you cross the bridge on Route 107 (East Avenue), but the traffic entrance— designated Tinkham Lane— is from Harrisville Main Street. Tinkham Lane is the new street next to the parking lot belonging to Stillwater House at 176 Main Street.

Directions for getting to the the library from—

Route 146

Take the Slatersville-Forestdale exit— also marked "to Routes 5 & 102"— onto Route 146A. Go north, following the signs towards Slatersville and Route 102. There is a light at Slatersville Plaza intersection. Route 102 begins at the intersection. Go STRAIGHT THROUGH the light, the plaza on your left, and you are now on 102 south. Continue on Route 102 for about 5 miles until you come to a light at Route 107 (NOT Route 7 which you crossed earlier). Go RIGHT onto 107 west, East Avenue, towards Harrisville. Stay on East Avenue until you cross the bridge at the waterfall. You will see the new library on your left. Continue up to the intersection and take a left onto Harrisville's Main Street. Tinkham Lane, the entrance to the library, is only a short way down on the left. (If you pass Niko's Pizza, you have gone too far!)

Route 295

Take exit 8B for Route 7 north. Stay on 7 until it crosses Route 102 (watch out for a dog-leg jog in 7 when you pass the Western Hotel— you should veer right over a small bridge). At the light, turn left onto Route 102 south & continue to the light at Route 107, East Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto 107 west towards Harrisville. Stay on East Avenue until you cross the bridge at the waterfall. You will see the new library on your left. Continue up to the intersection and take a left onto Harrisville's Main Street. Tinkham Lane, the entrance to the library, is only a short way down on the left.

Route 102

From the southern part of Rhode Island, take Route 102 north, and watch for signs after Chepachet Village to stay on 102 north. At the first traffic light after Chepachet turn LEFT onto Central Street which becomes Harrisville's Main Street & continue straight until you see Niko's Pizza. Tinkham Lane is the first right after Niko's.
