History of Knitting

Have you ever wondered where and when knitting originated? Here's a well researched article History 101 written by Samurai Knitter Julie Theaker and featured at knitty.com.

 Library Knitting Group

Join the library knitting group! Children and adults can learn to knit, improve their skills, share ideas, relax with friends, and meet new people.

Drop in any Thursday and have some fun. Ages 10 to 100 are welcome to join us, whatever their skill level. There is an instructor available to assist, and we have yarn and needles if you need them.

Thursday evenings from 6:00 — 7:00 p.m.
We meet upstairs in the Children's Room.

Some of the group's charitable projects:

September 2009— Brianna with some of the 50 hats being knitted for donation to Milford Hospital for their newborn babies.

January 2009— Members of the JMS Knitting Group wearing the Special Olympic scarves they knitted as part of the Coats & Clark's project that provided a scarf to every athlete. The scarves were sent to the Games in Idaho to be presented to the athletes. Good job, knitters!
